Noland McHone

Noland Mchone was an outstanding track performer for HHS from 1960 – 1963. Long before running and jogging became popular, Noland would make daily morning runs to Dayton and Bridgewater.
As a track performer for the Blue Streaks, Noland specialized in the 880 and the mile runs. He won the district competition each year in both events and qualified for the state meet all 4 years. Noland set the school record of 4:32 for the mile run and was also state runner-up in cross-country. Noland ran the anchor leg on the Blue Streak mile relay team and was especially known for his strong finishing kick.
Noland also was a starting guard on the HHS football team his junior and senior years, but running was his 1st love.
After graduating from HHS, Noland took over managing his family store until he was drafted into the army. After two years of service he returned to the family business and began investing in rental property. Noland continues to be involved in property management. He and his wife, Barbara, enjoy traveling and being grandparents.
