Keith Robinson, a talented and versatile athlete from 1987-1991, competed on both the baseball and football teams. The 1991 baseball team, led by Coach Jack Hale (HOF 2013) compiled a record of 14 wins and 8 losses, won the Valley District Championship and earned a Region II play-off berth for the first time in 18 years. Keith, the center fielder and occasional pitcher on the team, batted .324 for the season with a team-high 4 home runs and 14 runs batted in. This, along with his outstanding defensive skills earned Keith first team All-District, All-Regional and second-team All-State recognition.
In football, Keith‘s versatility was apparent all over the field. He earned second team All-District as a defensive back and kicker and was honorable mention as a receiver with 23 receptions for 401 yards. He also earned first team All-District, regional and second team All-State as a punter.
After graduation from HHS, Keith enrolled at Virginia Tech and was an invited walk-on for football. He was redshirted as a freshman and gave up football to concentrate on his studies. Keith graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and returned to the Harrisonburg area to operate a landscape/hardscape business for many years before changing careers.
Keith resides in Port Republic, Va. with his wife Amie and three children. Keith is active in a number of business and civic organizations including the Rockingham Education Foundation, Inc., the Shenandoah Valley Partnership, Harrisonburg/Rockingham Chamber of Commerce and Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as sports leagues affiliated with the Rockingham County department of Parks and Recreation. His sister, Terry Robinson was a 4-year member of the Blue Streak softball and volleyball teams.
