Harrisonburg High School has extended an offer to Kyle E. Gillenwater, Jr, to serve as the interim head varsity football coach, pending school board approval at the August meeting. Coach Gillenwater replaces Josh Carico, who resigned earlier this month for personal reasons.
Coach Gillenwater obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater College and Master of Education degree from Frostburg State University. Coach Gillenwater brings a vast array of experiences to the Blue Streaks football program. He recently taught and coached at East Rockingham High School, where he served as the defensive coordinator. Before joining the team at East Rockingham, Coach Gillenwarter served as an assistant football coach at James Madison University, Bridgewater College, and Furman University.
Harrisonburg High School welcomes, Coach Gillenwater who will begin his duties as the interim head football coach today.
